Festival FAQs

Does my ticket include wine tasting?

Festival admission includes a complimentary wine glass. You are welcome to sample wines from all participating wineries. Once you’ve found your favorites, we encourage you to purchase wine to enjoy throughout the day and additional bottles to take home. 

Will there be food vendors?

Yes, a variety of restaurants from around the Smith Mountain Lake region will be on-site to offer culinary delights. In addition, specialty food vendors will be participating in the festival.

Is wine pickup available?

Yes, wine pickup will be conveniently located on the way back to the parking area.

What are the hours of the festival?

Saturday 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Is the festival 21 and over?

No. All ages are welcome! Please remember to bring your photo ID if you plan to taste, though. All will be carded REGARDLESS of age.

The VIP section is 21 and over only. 

How much are tickets for children?
Kids ages 10 and under will be admitted free. All others require an admission ticket.
Do I need to print my tickets?

You may print your ticket to present at the gate. You may also show them on your mobile device.

Do you offer refunds?

Refunds will not be issued. Please be aware the festival is a rain or shine event.

How much does it cost to park?

Automobile and golf cart parking is FREE for all ticket holders. For those who prefer to boat to the festival, there are also a limited number of day docks available. Please contact Jennifer Pace at [email protected] for boat slip information

Do I have to walk from the parking area to the venue?

You may walk if you prefer, but shuttles will be running on a regular schedule throughout both days.

Is there a discounted designated driver ticket?

Yes! The designated driver ticket is back!

Are pets allowed?

No, pets are not allowed at the event.

Are bags allowed?

Yes. However, please be aware that all bags will be subject to search upon entry. No firearms are permitted. 

Are chairs, tents or canopies allowed?

Yes, This year’s festival will include open area space to enjoy the music, and blankets and chairs are welcome. 

There will be no charge for bringing your own -10×10 tent.  No tent will be allowed bigger than a 10×10 and “Must” be set up in the designated tent area.  It must be set up and taken down the same day – no overnight tents set up allowed.  The tent area is a first come area – no reservations.  If you want a tent space, we would recommend you come early.  We do not want anyone encroaching on another’s tent space.  Be polite and considerate of other tents when picking your spot.

Are coolers or outside food and drinks allowed?

No, coolers or outside food and drinks are not permitted.

Do I have to bring a photo ID?

Yes!  Virginia law requires us to check the ID of everyone who enters the festival, regardless of age. Don’t forget your photo ID!

Is the festival rain or shine?

Yes. Please dress appropriately.

Are overnight accommodations available?

Yes! Smith Mountain Lake offers multiple lodging options on and off-water.
